“Porcupine” – possible lyrics

Other Pleasures | Jun 25, 2017

Been playing with the possible lyrics to “Porcupine” a little bit. Well, it hasn’t been easy to figure out what LP purrs at some points in the third verse, and we’re still not 100% sure, but we managed to come to some conclusions. It took a little help from a friend, though, who saved us from going deaf listening over and over to those four lines like crazy people.

“Porcupine” is a light, countryish love song, which seems to be a bit of a dialog with Frank Sinatra’s “The Lady Is a Tramp” when it comes to the lyrics. Anyways, said Lady and that Porcupine girl would probably have a good time going out for a beer. Even if it was a PBR.

LP sang “Porcupine” a few times live and we absolutely love the performance from the Jam In The Van studio. The sound is great and, well, she looks simply gorgeous. What else do you need.

PORCUPINE – possible lyrics

She’s my little pumpkin
Sweet potato pie
When she wants something
She won’t be denied

She’s mine, oh yeah
Yep, she’s mine
She’s my little lovekin
Oh, my baby she’s a porcupine

She’ll move a mountain
She’ll soothe your soul
She’ll change your life and
You won’t even know

She’s so fine
She’s so fine

She’s my little lovekin
Oh, my baby, she’s a porcupine

La la la la
I’m in love
La la la la
So in love

Don’t want no diamonds
She loves caviar
She’ll choose a bottle and
It ain’t PBR, no no

She’s mighty, mighty
She’s mighty, mighty
Oh, she’s mine!

She’s my little pumpkin
Oh, my baby, she’s a porcupine
